Intern Exam Prep ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website at internexamprep.ca and the related ExAC study tools (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are an independent, unofficial study tool and are not affiliated with the ExAC, CACB, or any provincial architectural association.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in line with this policy.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your name and email address, and stores your login credentials. We do not store your password.
- Payment information. Purchases are processed by Stripe. Stripe handles your card details directly; we never see or store your full card number. We retain a record of your purchase (what you bought, when, and the amount) so we can grant and support your access.
- Usage information. We store your progress within the question bank (for example which sections you have access to and which questions you have attempted) so the Service works for you.
- Analytics. We use privacy-focused analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) to understand aggregate traffic. This does not use cookies to track you across other sites.
How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and grant access to what you purchased.
- To process payments and provide receipts and support.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To respond to your questions and requests.
- To send you essential service messages (for example, about your purchase or account).
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers that help us run the Service, and only as needed:
- Clerk — authentication and account management.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Convex — backend database and application data.
- Vercel — website hosting and analytics.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the Service.
Data retention
We keep your account and purchase records for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. To make a request, email us at help@internexamprep.ca from the address associated with your account. Note that deleting your account may end your access to any purchased content.
Security
We rely on reputable providers (Clerk, Stripe, Convex, and Vercel) and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Service is intended for adults preparing for professional licensure and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
